"TANGO Y VALS: Combinaciones, Ritmo y Fraseo"

The seminar will consist of 12 hours of teaching with Gustavo and Giselle, divided in 3 hours a day, preceded by 20 minutes of warming up with technical exercises for men and women, for 4 consecutive days. The teachers have found that a module of this type can achieve the highest quality in the transmission of knowledge, as required by any good teacher pupil relationship. These seminars have been already extensively tested, they are very famous and very popular, and they often record the "sold out" with several months in advance.  Therefore it is a good advise to book early.

and it is presented for the first time at our festival!

The seminar is aimed at experienced dancers, teachers, professional dancers and to all those who wish to study  tango in depth in order to snatch its true essence.

Gustavo and Giselle give this description of their seminario:

"We want to stress how these curricula are designed for advanced level dancers. Our conception of a teaching program of tango at an advanced level is as follows: a program that relates to movements that require a high degree of coordination, thorough a deep analysis and an organized study of such movements. We also believe it is important to emphasize that we will proceed with the planned schedule as it was  planned, regardless of the overall level of the course participants. If some participants have difficulty with some parts of the program, we will try to offer them a targeted support. This does not mean, however, to lower the difficulty level of the program for the other participants: neither we will slow down its development, rather we will follow it as established. "

"These seminars should be of particular interest to those who teach, as we focus our attention on the knowledge and understanding of the dance, and on its  systematic composition. Through these seminars, the teachers with many years of experience, those with a rather low experience  and those who would ever take the path of teaching will refine their didactic method, thus facilitating the learning process of their students."

"Based on our experience, we understand how the process of learning includes a "bet" from which  an "advantage" is expected: in other words, you create some "expectations ". These expectations are often frustrated when their goals are not achieved, as a consequence of the lack of knowledge of the basic principles of  tango as a discipline of dance. We believe that the path we propose, regardless of the technical level from which it is faced, enables a better learning, much faster and much more long lasting. "

"During the seminar we will work on elements of constant use in the dance as the lead and  follow, the embrace ( posture,  distance ...), the management of space, the interpretation of music (musicality, rhythm), the displacement  in a straight line, the turns (structure,  axis and direction) with respect of the runway, and on elements of choreography.

"We will go deep into the technical principles represented by each of these elements in order to achieve the goal of a tango which can be danced with mastery and control.

"One of the features of this seminar is the careful and detailed analysis of the technique, through which we intend to achieve two things: the quality in the execution and the usefulness  in the  movement. We firmly believe that, each according to his/her ability, the more you improve in the dance, the more you will enjoy it. "

At the end of the workshop, all participants will receive a certificate of participation with the number of hours, signed by Gustavo and Giselle and personally delivered by the masters the last day of class.

It will not be allowed any video recording of the seminar. Students will be allowed  to film themselves only at the end of the class.

For the first time:

"Tango y Vals: Combinaciones, Ritmo y Fraseo

SEMINAR:

4 days of class. Total of 12 hours

(January Thursday 5th Friday 6th , Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th 2012)

Structure:

-  The four days will have the same following time table - 3 (three) HOURS of class in 2 blocks of 1,5 (one and half) hours-

-  There will be 20 minutes every day previously to the beginning of the class for warming up and special Technique for WOMEN and MEN. Giselle Anne & Gustavo Naveira will guide this respectively and SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Participants:

-  MAXIMUM 30 couples. That means 60 persons.

-  The seminar will have exactly the same number of men as women. So, the registration system will only accept couples.

-  Same group the whole seminar

Teaching format:

-  G. Naveira & G. Anne will teach seminar classes TOGETHER.

Certificates:

-  At the end of the seminar the participants will get a certificate of attendance with the total of hours.

- G&G will sign by hand the certificates and will give them to the participants the last day of the seminar.

Video filming:

-  It’s not allowed the registration of sound and video filming during the seminar.

- At the end of each class, the students can film their selves. Filming will be permitted only at this time, and ONLY by the students registered in the seminar.
